Foreman/Team Lead - Forestry

Position: Foreman (Team Leader)
Summary: BurnBot Forestry Operations Division is seeking a foreman to organize, coordinate and control daily assignments and provide the necessary direction and leadership to crewmember(s), inspect and maintain equipment daily, conduct tailgate safety briefings and applicable training to team members, identify operational needs for each working location and work with team members to mitigate any concerns. Team Leader will work with leadership to plan and execute daily project objectives and ensure that the team’s operation is conducted safely and to project specifications.

*Candidate must be physically and mentally prepared to work for a Forestry Startup Company.
*Heavy Equipment operator and/or Wildland Firefighting Leadership experience preferred but not mandatory.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: Experience working in Forestry, Fuels Mitigation, Heavy Equipment, or Wildfire is a big plus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Promote and uphold the BurnBot, Inc. Mission Statement, Company Vision, and Core Values at all times.
Maintain a safe, productive, and positive work environment. Maintain and clean all equipment issued.
Comply with all state and federal regulations.
Proficient operation of light or medium machinery, and heavy machinery.
Pilot remote Forestry masticators to cut, clear and remove brush, surface level fuels and trees. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Lead and manage a worksite and team.

Desired Skill Sets:
Leadership – Applicant will provide leadership for the base and its crews. Leadership responsibilities include:
Onboarding and training for BurnBot employees.
Overseeing teams on the job site and other project areas.
Crew resource management
Properly training and development of their team.
Ensuring that the site operations run smoothly and professionally.
Ensuring that the base, crew, and equipment is project ready.
Problem Solving – Utilize personal knowledge to resolve issues. Able to discern when to seek assistance for efficient and effective resolutions.
Customer Service — Respond to requests and assist with an attitude to serve rather than be served.
Communication – Listen with the intent to provide constructive feedback. Speak in a manner that promotes respect and dignity in positive as well as negative situations.
Managing inventory and fulfilling supply/logistical needs of crew/team.
Work Environment:
Working conditions include working in a crew (team) environment, outside in varying weather conditions. May be required to work in an environment where there are fumes, smoke, noise, chemicals, dirt, and dust. May be on duty 10 hours or more a day, including travel time from the base to work site and back. May involve extended time away from home and depending on the project location.
