Heavy Equipment Operator

We are a tech forward fuels management company made up of firefighters, scientists, engineers, prescribed fire practitioners, ecologists, and community members who are answering the call to scale fuel treatment capacity.

Division: Forestry Operations

Position: Heavy Equipment Operator

 

Summary: The BurnBot Forestry Division is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to carry out mission critical assignments and provide the Crew Leader with assistance to successfully implement day-day assignments. Typical duties include: daily inspection and maintenance of equipment, participation in tailgate safety briefings, operation of heavy equipment to meet project specifications, and other duties as assigned. The Heavy Equipment Operator will coordinate and communicate with the supervisor to ensure needs for each working location are met.

  • *Candidate must be physically and mentally prepared to work for a Forestry Startup Company.

  • *Heavy Equipment operator and/or Wildland Firefighting experience preferred but not mandatory.

  • *Must be 18 years of age to apply.

  • *CDL highly sought


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

Education and/or Experience: Experience working in Forestry, related resource management field, and/or wildfire is a big plus.

 

Location / Duty Station (multiple locations currently available):

  • White City, OR 

  • Placerville, CA, 

  • Santa Rosa, CA,

  • Redding, CA

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Promote and uphold the BurnBot, Inc. Mission Statement, Company Vision, and Core Values at all times.

  •  Maintain a safe, productive, and positive work environment. Maintain and clean all equipment issued.

  • Comply with all state and federal regulations.


  •  Proficient operation of light, medium and heavy machinery. 

  • Pilot remote Forestry masticators to cut, clear and remove brush, surface level fuels and trees.   

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Working conditions include working in a crew (team) environment, outside in varying weather conditions. May be required to work in an environment where there are fumes, smoke, noise, chemicals, dirt, and dust. May be on duty 10 hours or more a day, including travel time from the base to work site and back. May involve extended time away from home and depending on the project location.
